Blue Topstitched shirt Blue Topstitched shirt

You just change one or two little things and woof, your sleeves go bad! These are barely wearable. They don't *hurt*, but they are not comfortable. I was trying to get my armholes up a little, and slope my shoulders a little more. I changed things just enough to ruin my sleeves.

I'm not quite sure what to do about them. There's not enough fabric to cut more. I may wear it like this once or twice, then remove them if I can't stand it.

On the plus side, I love the style of this. There are two more sets of waist darts that I may put in, if I decide to go more fitted. I topstitched along every seam and dart with white thread, and it looks really good. Even if it does become a sleeveless top, I'll enjoy it.

My drafting changes to accommodate my rounded back were very successful (except for the bad sleeves 8-| ), and the shoulder slopes are almost perfect. My shoulders slope more from my neck to the midpoint of my shoulder, and they are more square from the midpoint outward. I may try to curve that seam a tiny bit--I believe that Marcy Tilton discusses this in her Easy Guide to Sewing Tops and T-Shirts

Most likely, I'll read up on it and leave well enough alone. But I *am* gonna fix those sleeves.

I like that blue top stitched blouse. Very nice. So by all means change the sleeves cause you need to be wearing this blouse. Lois
