Spring Capsule: Blouse #2

Polyester floral print
The third piece of my spring capsule is nearing completion. I've only got to sew on the buttons to finish. After a burn test where the fabric scrap melted into a solid line of hard plastic, I am sure it is polyester. It was my intent to show you a photo of it, but it completely slipped my mind this morning when I was leaving home. It had something to do with making lunches, gathering up the gym clothes, and dressing for the day, I suppose.

This new blouse has a back yoke which extends 1 inch onto the front, gathers in the back under the yoke, and gathers at the front shoulder. It is very springy and pretty--and nearly transparent. There is most certainly a camisole in my future!

Jan Bones' Lingerie Secrets was the book I chose to look through when I started thinking about a new camisole. I've made some from Kwik Sew's Beautiful Lingerie with good results, but I wanted something a bit different. There is a lovely camisole in Jan Bones' book with an empire waist and gathers at the center front. It's designed for knits and may be perfect.

The only trouble with this book is that the patterns are half sized and are designed to be copied at 200% to bring them up to full size. I don't have a copier. :( That shouldn't be too much of a problem since there are a number of copy shops in town.

First, though, I've got to find some sort of breathable knit in an appropriate weight.
