Spring Capsule: Cardigan
Monday, April 17, 2006
Rummaging through the stash I came across this chenille sweater knit that wanted to be a cardigan for spring. It will mix in nicely with the Spring capsule stuff, since it has green, red, and lavender in it. Granted, it's getting a bit late for this sort of thing. (We turned on the a/c yesterday.) But I made it 3/4 sleeved, so I might still get a chance to wear it. If nothing else, it can serve as anti-airconditioning at the office.
The cardi doesn't have much punch from a few feet away. I find that to be the case with a lot of small-scale multi-colored fabrics. It needs some sort of flower pin on it. Perhaps either a felted poppy (see the pattern at http://www.magknits.com) or something like the this Kimono Flower Kit at Sewing Worshop would be just the thing.

This is another of my rotated dart projects with one inch of the front shoulder added to the back before I rotated the side bust dart up to the shoulder.
They are here:

All I really have so far are some periwinkle/lavender fabrics. I'm still on the lookout for complementaries!

Do you have the Spring Capsule fabrics photographed someplace? I wanted to see how this cardigan fit in.
